On June, 7th, 1991 the order of Chairman VGTRK of O.Poptsov №53 for realisation of manufacture a tele- and radio programs  VGTRK in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region, and also their transfers on channels of the Russian TV and Radio of Russia, had been formed Management VGTRK "St.-Petersburg".

Since summer of 1999 the Management carried out an original announcement in so-called "regional windows" on television channel "Russia". Programs for television channel "Culture" were simultaneously made. From the moment of formation the appreciable role in Management activity was played by the St.-Petersburg division "Radio of Russia" in which the considerable quantity of the political and art programs which had the All-Russia resonance prepared.

As a result of change of a program policy, since 2000, television channel "Russia - St.-Petersburg" takes in the lead positions among Northwest mass-media that the ratings given by the company GALLUP-MEDIA-SANKT-PETERBURG confirm.

Since January, 25th, 2005 during reorganisation ВГТРК, Management VGTRK "St.-Petersburg" is renamed in ГТРК "St.-Petersburg", having got all driver's licence and duties of the main regional state broadcasting company.

Today VGTRK "St.-Petersburg" is broadcast on television channel "by Russia - St.-Petersburg" in volume of three hours every week-day, and more than two hours of a weekly announcement on Saturdays and Sundays. To one million person in day our information releases look. And it not including those who all over the world sees Petersburg through a prism of "Messages" on the channel "RTR - the Planet" to Conduct - St.-Petersburg ". Daily three their releases go on the air on television channel" to Conduct 24 ".

The television program "to Conduct - St.-Petersburg" is the unconditional leader among information teleprograms of a city. Its rating is steadily high, to "Conduct" head rating tables of all teleprograms made in St.-Petersburg. Successfully Radio of Russia - St.-Petersburg "develops". Today it has more than 12 hours of a daily announcement per a city and regional air. The information program "Radio of Russia" - "to Conduct - St.-Petersburg" goes on the air 8 times a day. Quantity of listeners "Radio of Russia" - about 2 million persons daily.

Journalists and heads of our broadcasting company repeatedly have been awarded thanks of the President of Russia V.V.Putin, the governor of St.-Petersburg V.I.Matvienko, the Ministry of Press, VGTRK, Legislative Assembly of St.-Petersburg and many other state and public organisations.
